K. Silem Mohammad giveaway!

Yesterday I went to SPD with Mums to visit Clay and buy "Dear Ra" and "Rubber Side Down." I hadn't seen clay since the going away party and wake for the Pegasus reading series. We had coffee. He bought pizza (pictured above). SPD is a great place, and I like them all very much. I saw John Sakkis there, too.

It occurred to me then that I had been talking about selling everything I own for a very long time. But now I just want to give it all away. I probably won't give everything away, but almost everything. I am starting with books and working my way up to much bigger and much more expensive things. I was going to do one book a day, but that would take two years or something. So, if you were one of the first to "win" a book, you'll see I put other books in there with them.

I just want to have a less cluttered life, and I have way too many books that I've read and just sit on the shelves. I can't move them, and I am going to move soon.

So today's second giveaway is K. Silem Mohammad's books. I used to have more, but I must have given some away, or someone has "stolen" them from me. They are: "Deer Head Nation," a really good book, the first Flarf thing I ever read, not knowing what Flarf was; "Abraham Lincoln 1," a poetic journal edited by Mohammad and Anne Boyer that I like in the extreme; and "Breathalyzer," my favorite book by K. and the one I reviewd in Rain Taxi.

The first person to email me (see right) will get all three in the mail. EVERYONE is eligible. Addresses will be deleted as soon as I mail the books. No records will be kept. When I get an address, I will update this post saying so and post another giveaway!

Tonight is Clay's party. I will go to that. Tomorrow is the last Pegasus reading I know for sure will take place, so I will go to that, too. Sad. I am sad that the East Bay will suffer such a crushing blow with Clay's departure from Pegasus. I will have to start buying poetry online like everyone else I guess. Will Diesel pick up the slack?

I didn't sleep last night.

The sun lit the morning blue, and I realized it was a new day.

I spent the night writing things that have no value.

A Great Reading And an Urgent Appeal

The only thing missing.

Hello everyone. I am guest blogging today to say how the Pegasus reading last weekend went since Jack couldn't be there. The reading went great! Of course, I was in it so I would say that. However, those of us who frequented the Pegasus readings through the summer may have had something much more ominous on our minds altogether.

I am referring, of course, to the state of affairs regarding Clay Banes' well-known plunging v-neck t-shirt which I have not seen in some time. I fear that Clay Banes' well-known plunging v-neck t-shirt has been so cruelly cast aside that it may be languishing in a state almost akin to death. I think Clay Banes is saying he no longer believes in the bold fashion decision he made. And I think we all know what happens to bold fashion decisions when people stop believing in them. They get used for rags! They get thrown away! They just waste away to tatters and then there's nothing left! However, I think there might still be time for Clay Banes' well-known plunging v-neck t-shirt, because it spoke to me in a dream last night and told me so. Basically, if we all clap our hands and say "I believe in well-known plunging v-neck t-shirts," quietly at first, but then louder and louder, the well-known plunging v-neck t-shirt will come back to life. I am pretty sure this is how it worked for Tinkerbell. Maybe.
